Overpack Salvage Drums provided by us are tough, reliable and handle all of your hazardous material needs. Our drums provide protection and convenience in handling of a package and handling of hazardous materials. Our drums are 100% UV protected polyethylene drums that are designed for hazardous material transport and storage. The overpack salvage drums are simply used as additional protection for shipment of highly dangerous chemicals in the inside drum. It's also great as a safeguard against drums that can rupture during transport.
The overpack salvage drums feature a twist-down lid for easy and safe closure without specialist tools. A closed cell gasket in the lid ensures tight sealing, while castellation in the lid permits easy closing using a simple pole for leverage. The lid's double wall gives additional strength in this area, while the container's ribbed design reinforces the overall strength of the container's body. Overpack salvage drums ought to pass, at least, standard UN requirements for drums shipping solids as well as 3 PSI air leak proof test. If the drums meet the requirements as specified by DOT under 49 CFR 173.3 (c), then it is to be marked (labeled) as a Salvage drum. Using a drum for shipping leaking drums that does not have the words "Salvage Drum" marked on the drum is shipping illegally.
